In the Old Testament, they were known as “Doorkeepers”—those who guarded the sacred spaces of worship (Psalm 84:10).
In the New Testament, Jesus often entrusted His disciples with roles that reflected the spirit of ushering, guiding people, organizing crowds, and facilitating order.
At Goodnews Chapel, the Ushering Unit functions as the frontline of hospitality and order during every gathering.
It is a diaconal ministry, rooted in service, humility, and the desire to help others encounter God without distractions.
